Hey there,
I just took my boat out for the first time yesterday (purchased a used '93 last Fall.) It has '93 120hp v4 Evinrude. The boat was just tuned up and ran super - but I found the steering a bit hard and awkward - is this common? Anything I should check or do?
Thanks,
Jeff

Congrats on the boat. The pulling to the right is common, it is caused by the torque of the prop rotating to the right. There is a small tab on the back of the lower unit that can be adjusted to compensate for this a little. I have found it to help alittle but not much. How far below the bottom of the boat is your prop shaft? This measurement can be taken on the trailer. Trim the motor all the way down so it is level. Place a streight edge on the bottom of the boat and place another on the nose of the lower unit at the center point. Measure between the 2. This will give you an idea as to how deep you lower unit is running. The higher you can run the engine while still maintaning neutral trim, (and water pressure) the faster you will go.

you can also get a torque tab from Land and Sea that you attach to the skag that helps.
