Seems what I've tried is not as jet black as the original black paint on my 2.4 merc. I think the stock paint is lacqure on the 2.4 & even the current merc brand spray paint in a can is a black enamle that is not as jet black as the original.

Did you try Merc phantom black?

i have merc phantom black and it matches perfect
