many posts on this subject . my thoughts in a nutshell , assuming yours is just starting to go away ..... compound first (with a buffer) a few times with 3-m finessit ( a very gentle compound) then wax with your choice of waxes . i'm happy with frenzy , but i think its the prep thats more important than the brand of wax.

After a good wax is applied, how do you keep it looking good? Do you use the spay wax or do you actually wax the boat every week?

i've never used spray wax. if i'm going to do more than just wash it i'm going to wax it but thats me . whatever works for you to keep it looking good . the frenzy is probably as fast as any spray wax.

Bob,
One of the things I've heard about the spray waxes, is that they water spot really easily on a boat. I'm thinking about race glaze who have a gloss highlighter that they recommend for use between waxings. Any experience with these types of products? Typically I just use Starbrite.

chris , no experience with sprays at all . i don't wax mine as often as i would like to or as often as a lot of the guys that trailer . so when i do it i go the whole nine yards . what i did hear via speedwake is that the owner of race glaze does not really recommend race glaze wax for gelcoat. that is why another product line called long haul is being marketed. but your idea is worth exploring .whats another bottle of wax added to the "collection"

I've been using Turtle wax Hard Shell spray.Spray it on and wipe it off.Really does make the boat look better and its easy.I'm certain there are better ones out there but thats what works for me.One of my other boats had a black stripe on the bow that was hard to keep shining.I found that Nu Finish held up the best for that application.
