Ok guys went back to the river again to make sure my idling problems went away and they did. The first picture is half throttle and the second is 3/4 throttle. In the second picture I'm turning 5800 rpm's w/ a full tank of gas and three people. What's great is that as i keep hitting the trim you could feel the boat lift out of the water some more.

I had the wife and son in the boat yesterday. I hit a boat wake just after the picture was taken and got the look. So I back out of the gas.:D

How are you guys getting top speed. I do realize that i had 3 people plus a full tank of gas. I'm turning 5800 rpm's w/ a 23 p prop, the centerline is 2.5" below pad. By the prop calculator using 8% slippage, 1.87 gears I'm getting about 65 mph. The speedo said 75mph go figure. I guess I need a bigger prop.

Its hard to keep my out wife out of drivers seat,:eyecrazy: She comfortable trimed out and running 60ish.She's not to happy when I air it out past 70.But more and more I just find my self happy tooling around at 40 mph. Maybe its time sell the old checkmate and get a new baylner. YEA RIGHT.:D

With that said you'd be better off buying a pontoon boat with two electric trolling motors.:)

Heh heh heh - Curt, I can imagine why that little guy didn't like to ride in the sporty with you!!

My little girl was napping under the deck and there was a wanker kinda sandwiching me in at the lake so I nailed it and ran from abotu 30 to 50 over some waves. Boat was totally stable but bounced pretty good. As in - bounced her little head off the floor. Not a good way for a 3yr old to wake up from a nap. We anchored, swam and was well...

I forgot to mention that I had open the bimini top while out on the water. The bimini is sturdy up to about 45 mph so it's great pulling hydrosliders during the summer.:thumb:

That's great news! I pulled all 6 of my deck fittings last weekend and re-installed them with 3M 5200 adhesive/sealant. Did you do that with yours yet?
