I think my alternator is out and I called around looking for one. I expected it to be more than a car or truck but not $579.

Anyone know if this is normal priceing for a newer 225 Merc EFI ?

:bigthumb: welcome to boating, keep calling and price checking but watch out some places have a cheaper price but rape you on shipping and handling

Thanks Big Red. There is a place in town that rebuilds alts. I'll ask them what they think.

If you find nothing there... check 'Scream and Fly' and 'ByUBoyz' sites, maybe you can find
a used one!

Thanks for the ideas 175 and Kingbiship. I took it to an alternator rebuild place and might have it back in 2 or 3 days. Luckily its an easy part to replace myself so no mechanic needed. That means a little extra for gas.
