View Full Version : mixing 2 kinds of injector oil
i have about 1/3tank of yamalube in the oil tank right now and i want to start running merc premium plus..... i don't want to take the chance of running it so low that i need to worry about burning it up so i was going to fill the rest of the tank with new oil-not sure if you are supposted to mix them?????

drain the old stuff all the way down to the resivoire tank and to the pump and then put the merc stuff in. be sure to refill the reserv tank and make sure there is oil going to the pump.

Hey Ross,
We do this with our sleds all the time when we switch oils...
Just take a bit of the yama-lube and put it in a dish, say a cup or so. Then put a cup of the merc. oil in it and shake them up good. Make sure they mix and don't do anything different. I'm sure they won't, but that way you can be sure!

You should go with penzoil 100% synthetic, i did and I am never going back to merc premium plus. The penzoil protects better per jay smith and smokes less and smells better and I swear my engine is less oily than it used to be. but the biggest thing is the cost savings, something we all need with increased gas prices. You can buy it at wal-mart in 1 gal. jugs for 25 bucks, i used to pay 35 for the merc premium plus at the marina and that is when i could find it, most aren't carrying it anymore. Just my experience, -shane
