shouldn't be that hot, really depends on water temp and how hard you are running it but your thermostat shouldnt let it get that hot. It may be warm to the touch but its not going to burn you!

how was your water pressure? Sounds like you didnt have enough or you may have a bigger issue, shouldnt be that hot after 3 mins!

Sounds like it needs an impeller!

sounds like you have a temp problem - on the muffs you should not have a hot water issue - most municipal water systems run around 60psi, more than enough to over compensate for a bad impeller (been there done that). if that water pump is more than 3 years old, time for a new one.

T-stat opens at about 140 degrees which could show some steam but not be hot enough to really burn your hand. You shouldn't get a real stream until the t-stat opens. Both my Mercs (87 200 & 97 225) take a couple of minutes to get to 140 degrees. I'd change the pump just because I put a new one in every spring. Holler if you need help.

If it's slow it must be an OMC.

sound like you need an impeller

not enough water at idle

i would think it would stay at 140 after warm up unless the t-stats are stuck open

might be time to clean them out
