anyone heading down to the air races this weekend on the detroit river. we are planning to launch down river and boat up to it. i hope they let us get close enough.

I plan on heading up on saturday and seeing just how close and visable the planes are going to be.If its all good I'll properly spend some time there on sunday too. If I'm not happy with the view I'll head on sunday into Detroit and spend the day in the city.


What ramp U plan on using. Wyandotte's is a good little ramp. Jefferson ave and st.johns st. or Elizabeth park ramp. on the free bridge causeway over to Gross ile is nice also. Avoid Ecorse city ramp at all cost.

I've always wanted to see that but i always miss it when its on tv, that would be something to see it in person though, can you go on the water while race is going on? (obviously not close to whats going on but)

i called the coast guard on belle isle and they said you can go on either side but there will be a escape route for the planes on the belle isle side. i don't know what ramp we are using. its near grosse isle i think....i'm following my buddy.
