It took 8.2 gallons to top off the tank with 94 octane. Almost $ 35.00 Ouch! Yeah I think I'll probably be a little more careful with my right foot when I hit those smooth areas of the river.

I don't know what it was today, all I know is that the News said on Thursday that CT officially earned the right to the HIGHEST GAS PRICES IN THE COUNTRY.
This included beating ALASKA and HAWAII!
Unreal, but I still do what I have to do to get the boat outl
I refuse to let those sand dwellers control my life....even if I end up broke!
Probably not smart, but as long as I pay the mortgage, the rest is boat money.

If it keeps going up.I am going to have to replace my 200 with a 90..How fast do you think the starliner will go with a 90????LOL
I thought about the smaller BR,but with 6 in my family.it would probably not save me much...

must be nice to go 3 trips on one tank... shoot if i get a half day on a tank i am lucky my rig likes the fuel. My diesel likes the fuel too, its hard to get the boat out when diesel fuel is close to 5.50 a gallon, it costs me about 200 bucks to go out for a weekend of "fun" even though i stress about the money i just spent for the weekend. But its worth it to see the honeys and my honey having a good time on the lake.

you gotta do more cruisin ! thats that halfway point from idle to wot ! lol
87 - is 3.98-4.06
93 - is 4.25 and on the lake I hear it is 4.75 a gal for 89
Diesel is 5.65 a gal
I won't be going to the lake as often, and the lakes around here have done away with pre-mixed.

ya i think i no where the cruising speed is i just dont like it, its too boring knowing that you have 20 mph left in her and i just want to open it up and blow be all the little jet ski screwing around and the wake boats thinking they rule the lake it too hard for me not to come up next to them and cruise then they hammer down and pull away then i hammer down and blow them away and see their faces it priceless:bounce: i do a lot more sitting now and watching boats then i do playing with fuel prices.

Yep, I think us boaters sure do our part as far as keeping the economy going. (for me) It's not just the $100.00 per day for gas in the boat, it's the $40-50.00 of diesel it takes to pull the boat to the closest water (about 75 round trip miles away), then the 50.00 for a cooler full of drinks and food for the family, then the 150.00 yearly fee for the ramp membership where I put in. Going out on the boat for 1 day is generally a $200.00 deal,.......But, in the past 10 days, we've been on the water 6 of those 10! YEEHAWW ! And I'm not even on vacation yet!!!

Helmich,
Early this morning I did a presentation on automotive market conditions for a bunch of Germans. Obviously our gas prices were a big part of it. I had to preface it by admitting that we are still much cheaper than the EU. BUT if you go back a few years to when the Euro to $ was close 1 to 1, we'd be trending to get pretty close in prices.
Scary thing is that the "new" middle classes in India and China are not going to stop using gas. Many of these people just got their first car and they (like us checkmate guys) aren't going to stop driving their new toys until they really have to. Despite the global escalation in prices, DEMAND FOR GASOLINE CONTINUES TO RISE!! I've heard that when the global price for gas gets to the point where US gas is $6-$7, the global demand will start to level off.
FYI guys, in April 2008 was the first month in history (I know of ) that US car sales exceeded US truck/SUV sales. 'uhh hobie how well does that malibu pull a starliner again???
Where are you at in The Netherlands? I lived in Tilburg for a little while (Between Breda and Eindhoven).

I filled up my truck in Little Haiti, Miami @ $3.93/gal for 87oct this morning. The pump stopped at $75 and I didn't feel like restarting the process. I believe I could have got another $10-15 in.
:offtopic: I'm debating on taking the boat out today because it is supposed to rain, but tomorrow would be worse so I might just hit up the tank for 7-8 gallons and run around the glades for a couple hours without stopping to fish.

In South Florida it changes by around 4-6 cents every day (up and down). One day I went in to fill up at 05:00 and when I came back to fill up again at the same station at 21:00 it was 8 cents more!!!

the stupid thing is that the gasprices overhere are mainly taxes. (about 78% of the price you pay) that's why the goverment of the netherlands are the biggest thieves of all. the higher the oil prices the more they get because it is in % of the production price of the oil company.
i live in the middel of the netherlands. nunspeet. a small town near the veluwemeer. (veluwelake) it has a fastlane on it from about 10 miles for waterski and fast boats.(search it on google maps.) i own a transportcompany overhere.

Its about 4.11 here for 89
I have used my boat very little partly because of some home projects, but also because of gas for me to get to a good lake its over 100 on gas just for my truck. I will use it much more later in the summer. Gas prices for me anyway make you think about when and how much I use versus just jumping in the truck and heading to the lake.
