I need to remove my 1989 Johnson 120hp TODAY!!! I have a 2 ton hoist and load straps. My issue is with disconnecting everything to be able to use the same controls, throttle cables and steering with a 1996 Johnson 150hp I am supposed to be putting on this afternoon/evening. So far I've got the steering piston out, throttle cables off, and the fuel line disconnected. All that is in my way is the tilt/trim controls and the rest of the wiring. I'm not exactly sure where I should be disconnecting these from.

I'm not exactly sure where I should be disconnecting these from.all the electical connections have plugs to disconnect then just unbolt the battery cables at the solenoid and ground, only about 4 or 5 plugs to disconnect they should match up with the plugs on the 150.

There were a few wires (6) that didnt seem to go to anything, no plugs they were just strung along the block . That was my concern, maybe it was some kind of accessory that a previous owner disconnected but never removed the wiring. Either way I just tore out and chopped the nonsense and threw on the new muscle. VERY pleased.

I still have to do some work before I can get it on the water but I definitely ran it on the muffs a few times and shes a beast!!! The powerhead is a year old, powerpack is 6 mos old, and the starter/controls are brand new. I have no idea why this guy agreed to sell for $1,800, but I won't complain. I started a new thread in props about what pitch I should run.
