I think I am going to sell my Checkmate. It is a 1973 MX16. I rebuilt the whole boat(deck off resto). The hull is very light. The boat is painted from the waterline up and original gelcoat on the bottom. The boat has some scratches on it but overall it looks nice, The driver seat has a tear on the top corner. This boat has dual ride guide steering, trim buttons on the wheel and a Merc 10,000 tach. It is rigged with a 1977 Mercury 150 inline 6 short shaft(not a "j" block) w/ trim and tilt. it has a 14x24 Merc chopper on it. The trailer is an original Shoreline that I repainted with new lights and wiring and tires that I wouldn't be scared to tow any distance. This is a very cool retro boat that is capable of speeds close to 70mph. I hate to sell it but I have way too many projects and could use the cash to finish a couple of them up. I have a link to some photos(the louvered cowl in the pics is not included but I have several wraps). $3000.00. The short shaft 150 alone is worth 2000.00+. Thanks http://www.retroboats.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30

Bump for a sweet classic ride. This is nearly identical to the one i owned, though i had more power and wasn't set-up properly. These, with a bit of motor work will do a stable 80mph. I'm tempted to re-own one though... $3k is a steal! :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks. It is a cool old classic. It could also be ran in APBA vintage as a JP boat if you were to make it a center steer, single seat or toss a long mid shaft on it (I have those as well) and make it a 2 seater for FJ class.

My avitar picture was my MX14 from back in the mid 70's.
