Saturday we were out on Partridge Lake. Bluehealer was near the end of his break-in period so he made a few fly-bys.

Next, i'm pretty sure the vids of your boat didnt turn out with me talking and wobblin.Next off,Hotdaddy,i've only got 5 hrs of break in so far so i'm going easy on it.So far only up to 6000rpm 3 times, thats what your seeing in the vid,and thats with a 25 Trophy and almost no trim, and no GPS along in fear of "what i can do".Thanks also,to 2springers26 for his rebuild skills and Ruck for his block work,so far so good.

what happened to or caused your x to blow up?

I see your in the market "allegedly" for a 300.I think i would have been just as happy with a good 300 and not an x,but thats neither here nor there. When i put the x on my boat last fall,i drained all the fuel out of the motor, but not the boat, which had octane boost and was 93 pump gas,6 or 7 weeks old.Yes my fuel in the boat was breaking down to the point that it wasnt 93 anymore or stable.

thanks for the info, i know the 300 xs is premium only, so that must be the case with a 300x also. that sucks that they are so sensitive to fuel quality. i did not mean to bring up bad memories when asking about your motor, i was wondering what happened and if there was a gremlin associated with that motor. if your looking for a 300 merc are you not stuck with buying out of merc racing anyways? what good 300 did you have in mind?

You didn't conger up any bad memories, only good lessons learned. I would stick to the years between 1999 and 2003,2001 was the first year of the x,but definitly stick with a 300 pro max or x,not the 300 drag which is a 2.5. The 3.0 just seem to have that high end torque you need for the big pitch props.

Kurt,

You'll have to come with us next time. We managed to stay dry till the trailering home. We commented to eachother about how we believed we outran the bad weather.......................... BOOM huge down pour most of the way back on 441. Atleast we weren't out on the water when it hit.

That was my first time on the Wolf. We launched at Red Banks and headed toward Partridge Lake then went out to Poygan. Poygan was a little rough but fun. We ran back in to Partridge just to mess around. Nice little section of the Wolf. Maybe next time we checkout "Nipple Beach".

I'd like to run the river when the "no wake" is lifted(during the week) I tend to load up a little in the no wake zones.

Hey blue,

What are you running for a prop on that rig and what is your gear ratio if you don't mind sharing?

bluehealer

I'm running a 25" Trophy just for my break in period cuz i didn't want to lug my motor,BUT,when it's time,i've got a 27 Trophy,a 27 Performer(4-blade),and a 28 Trophy that i think will handle my speed need. What setup are you gonna run?Oh yea,i'm runnin a Titus coned, 1.75,Torquemaster,to much skeg needed in the water to push this boat and a Sporty was to fat above the bullet.

I got the 1.62 gears (stock sporty).

I have 1.75's in my sporty on the 2.5, I wonder if the gears can be swapped???? I know the cases don't adapt.

Oh well, I got a few props to choose from so we will see what runs well.

Thanks for the info Blue!
