i had good intentions of goin' boatin' saturday but the rear window got smashed out of my truck, i let a guy borrow it and a refrigerator came through it.. so it was out for saturday
so today i got rollin' about 11 am, first i drained out a tank full of bad gas, (spark knock like crazy) which only took all off 1 1/2 hours, with a little 1/4 hose and a nasty taste in my mouth, then a new filter, so i figured i would throw some new plugs in too......no auto parts stock outboard plugs (I think i stopped at every one...):brickwall: so i end up at boaters world in saginaw, run in to an old friend, talk for a while, get home realize its now after 3, so i go to hook up the boat,....where's my receiver hitch?????
there goes another 1/2 hour lookin for that, now im on my way..filler' up with fresh gas @ $4.39 a gallon. drop it in the water, jump in turn the key, click, click.........nothin'.... WTF!!!!!!!!! go to the truck to grab my booster pack behind the seat, yeah its NOT there, because the glass for my broken window had been vaccumed out, and it didnt get put back in, along with my jumper cables:irked: sooo i pull the boat back out, go back home, after i back it in, i open the door on the truck, and after drivin around for a while the nest of bee's in the door jam decided they had had enough, so they proceeded to sting the crap out of me :yell:
now its after 6pm, so i opted to drink beer because i have nothing better to do :cheers

Sounds like an average day in my life.
I had one of those boating days, too. We never go out in LKN during the weekend due to the crazy people. But girlfriend talked me into meeting up w/ some casual friends. They are nice people but they think they know EVERYTHING there is to know about boating (and pretty much everything else).
We meet them at a nice little sandy island. They beached their boat but I wanted to anchor out. Gfriend throws out the anchor and it seems to catch...we wade into the beach. 5 minutes later I notice the boat is starting to move due to the wind and boat traffic. I swim out and find that she had dropped the anchor straight down and not out from the boat. I pull it in and start to throw anchor further out but slip (due to waxing the boat the previous week). I hit the deck like a ton of bricks and drop the anchor and line in the drink. By this time everyone is watching as the boat is really starting to drift towards a group of boats. I dive into retrieve the anchor rope before it sinks. I have the rope in one hand and the bow eye in the other while yelling at the gfriend to come help. The wind is really blowing and I end up dropping the rope and swim back to get the engines started before we hit the boats that are coming up fast. Talk about being pissed and embarrassed. We ended up diving a few times for the anchor/ rope but it was to deep. So much for my $100+ box anchor....
I drink a beer and chill out for awhile but was in no mood to just hang out. We go to leave, gfriend boards while I'm holding boat. I hurry up and get in to start engines and back out....guess what? The neutral safety starts acting up and the engine won't start.....meanwhile we are drifting side ways into the same group of boats from earlier. Our know it all friend swims out and catches us just before we hit the other boats. I finally fire up and he looks at us in disgust and tells me I need to take a boating safety course.........
Not a good day on the water.

Yeah, kinda like you forgetting to tell me that the motor i drove throgh a snow storm for 4 hours, to find that it was frozen in the boat after i got there, then drivin' down again to pick it up wasting another 80 dollars in fuel, then findin' out its a 150 not a 200 as advertised, and the bolts with the trim fittings got mushroomed by a hammer, so if you could box up that 50 horse and the extra .4 liters i'd be glad to get that lift hook right to ya!!!
just be glad that you didnt ebay that motor or ship it to another state, cause you woulda' been eating truck frieght both ways!
ps, the motor is still hanging on it, as it waits to be paid for.. by someone who can use it..
i hate internet bashing, so HAVE A NICE DAY!!! !!!!

I have to get in on this as well cause its been a bad few weeks.
-3 weeks ago I lost the outdrive to the Persuader on a reef at Lake Erie
-At the same time the Enchanter is being worked on so although I have 2 boats I'm now boatless.
-Just bought a Dodge Ram to pull the Persuader and it broke down Friday coming home with the Enchanter
-Took the Enchanter out yesterday and had a good day but as we get close to home I see a tire wobboling. I stop to look and the bearings are coming off
The list goes on and on but I keep fighting whatever boating curse is on me. I know some of it is my fault but some of it is just bad effin luck

how about YOU drive up here twice and get it!!
then we will hand one that is smaller than you are told!
man.. I am sorry, and I know I am new on this board.. but that takes allot of B@11z to screw over a guy on a motor, and then get upset about him not hurrying on the return of a $20 hook
the GUY has a bad day and you just :poke: at him... not cool
here is a deal for ya...
refund his money and come get that motor at YOUR expense... sounds fair to me! (then you can get your hook back)
/rant

Way to go kid, kick him while he's down. :poke:
he should know that i was kidding with him ... \
first off im not HERE TO SCREW ANYONE!.. im quite pissed off it wasnt a 200 because i wouldnt have bought the boat that it came on in the first place.
i offered him a FULL refund. as to not tarnish my name on here. but i guess that didnt work..
if i knew it was only a 150 i would have advertised it as a 150 as i dont play bull**** games.
please dont come on here and act like i straight up stiffed the guy. i did offer him a full refund but he said he had a guy that was willing to buy it from him.
oh and by the way smart guy that hook cost me 40 dollars.
dont come on here ranting when you dont even know half the story.
mr buss i really hope there arent any hard feelings. i did offer you a refund and you didnt take it. i would have gladly kept it for the lower unit and spare parts. since they are worth more than the 1000 dollars i sold it to you for. hell it has a new stator that i paid 400 for alone .
:cheers

i should have mentioned that you did offer my money back, which was real cool, but it would have cost another 80 or 90 bucks to drive down again, why do it? i got a local guy i can unload it to, without losing any more money, no hard feelings.....really :cheers

I'll have to say, stclair did seem real surprised when he found out it was a 150. I think he was hoping you would take the refund. He did feel bad about it. At least that was the impression I got talking to him.
Dude you got to buy extra lifting eye's, because they get loaned out a lot.

I took the kids out in the Lake Sunday only to have the water get a bit too rough shortly AFTER launching. I decided to pick up the boat and head 20 minutes away to another protected waterway but as I was pulling the trailer to the ramp to retrieve the Exciter, I notice I too had a wobbling trailer wheel. My bearings had vacated the hub. I had just greased them 2 short trips ago, too. Oh well. It's only money right. I was able to limp home slowly as I was only about 5 miles from home.
