familyboat

Hello everyone, I took the plunge and purchased a Checkmate Pulsare 185 BR. It is a 1993 and purchased from orginal owner and it has been garaged and covered it's whole life. The interior and exterior are perfect.
The motor is a Mercury 175 fuel injected. It runs nice, but had to replace the water pump today. After that, it ran great.
Today was the first time in a checkmate, and I love it. It is the perfect family boat, but runs 60 with no problems. I can enjoy it with the family or just out cruising the lake.
I look forward to hearing from some of you at things I need to think about.
I do have a couple of questions.....
What is "fuel" toggle switch on panel?
My water pressure gauge seems stuck, anything I need to try to get it working?
When you are out boating, and sking.... Should there be any water coming out of bilge? if so how much. I don't think I have a leak, but there was some water coming out bilge today. We skied some, but not a whole lot...
Thanks for you time.

On my Entertainer, the fuel toggle controls the sending unit/gas guage. The needle bounces like crazy if I leave it on and the boat is moving, so I only check it while I'm stationary.
As for the water in the bilge.... Any water a skiier brings in on their lifejacket, equipment, and swim trunks has to end up somewhere, and that somewhere is the bilge. I know I have a habit of coming out of the throttle really quick when a skiier drops, and this leads to water coming in via the rubber boot where the controls go through the transom.
SO, where are the pics?????

I believe your boat would be a "Pulse" 185 bowrider...the Pulsare's first year was 1994 and the first model built (and still in production today) was the Pulsare 2100. Let's see some pictures and we can confirm what you have.

Nice looking Pulse you have there! Water can also enter the bilge from the boot that has all your cables and hoses passing thru. The boot doesn't completely seal the cables, and when you come off plane the water can rise up in the splashwell and leak into the cable boot.
