This does not relate to me in particular, since I don't call my 14' boat anything. We actually call our boat Big Red, That Venus Black Beauty, and another 'Glass Boat Titanic. If I had a Pulsare, I probably would have a hard time coming up with a name. Whats your boat going to be called Bill? I bet you are getting anxious. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

The name kind of has a sappy story, but when I almost lost Stephanie in Jan/Feb and when I was on one of my many commutes back and forth to the hospital, I was losing my radio station, so I hit the scan button and the first staiton that it came to was country staion. Shameless by Garth Brooks had just started playing. I happened to listen to the words and I thought "Shameless" had to be the name. If or when you ever listen to the words and understand what I was going through, than the true meaning of it will be clear. If you understand, you will see it was named for my wife! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

My boats name is gslinger, because I'm a garbage man(sanitation engineer). So I sling G for a living. Our second choice was Garbage Picked

I do not have a name on my Pulsare but I have a boat name to share. My father calls his 35' Cruisers Inc "AMNESIA II" because when he is on it he forgets about everything else.

I feel the need for speed!

I've got a couple for ya. My Scarab had "HAMMERED" painted on the sides. The Senator I had last year was known as "BLACK THUNDER".The Enforcer I have now will be known as "THE ENFORCER". http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Bill, Nice story...I like that.

Liberstor was know as PreditorII. I used to hunt down Outboards and eat them for lunch. With the hole shot that would break your kneck and the 104mph top end that was easy. The hole shot was ungoddly. So even if they had more on me on the top end, they needed a hole nother lake to catch me.

The Convincor is called My Island, Time to slow down and enjoy......

Hey Will, have you ever boated on Lake Okatibee? We used to live in Meridian, Mississippi, had a '77 Vmate II, and an '85 Diplomat. Another good boat name is my fifteen year old son's idea "My Prozac."

Well after pulling the mate all the way to NE. We had a lot of time to come up with a name for the old gal. I had been tossing this around for a long time. After all the work I have done to it, and all the work I have left to go. We came up with "checked out" Because I have to be to continue this project. Also when ya stand on the gas the name say's it all. Oh the fun.

I have never been on that lake, Merc-mate. I usually boat on Arkabutla Dam, Sardis Dam, Enid Dam, Tunica Lake, or the Mighty Mississippi! Tunica Lake is my favorite because from there I can either stay on the lake or take a small channel to the Mississippi. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I named mine "Cheap Thrills" cuz it was originally cheap to buy.... but we won't keep track after that. I was thinking of "Immunity" because it's a Diplomat but I didn't think anyone else would get it.

I've been wanting to put this name on a boat for years and never got around to it( YUT SOME ) on both sides and( DIDN'T THINK SO )on the transom! It would definatly have to be a fast boat!!!

Bill

Kip,

Please excuse my stupidity here, but what is YUT SOME? It is probably so obvious tht I am looking to much into it... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Kip! Kip! That is so %$^^#@# FUNNY!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/lol.gif

Bill I think he is trying to say(I am a redneck.....so I UNDERSTAND!) :

"Yawnt sum?" (DO YOU WANT SOME?) on the sides
"Didn't think so" on the transom

Kip.That would have to be a very fast boat......or you could just run it where only slow boats run! That is the best one yet! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I would ask you if I could use that on my boat.....but I would probably have to put "Yawnt some?" on the transom and "thought so!" on the front!

I don't have a name on the side of mine, but it is called "Crown me King". It got the name after my dad said I would not have a boat faster than HIS hydra-sport. Ironically, I got mine running the same day his new promo boat came in, And I SMOKED HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEE HEEE HEEE. I still laugh when I think about that.

Once you've picked out the boat of your dreams, you have an even more difficult choice to make. Now you must name her, which is not an easy task. You have several considerations, including classic superstitions, and whether your friends and family will be embarrassed or offended by the name you choose.
Â*
One boat naming superstition revolves around whether or not it is okay to rename a previously-owned boat. Some say it is bad luck if you remove an old name on a vessel.
Â*
Many people choose a boat name based on that of their spouse or children; this is nice, but you can run into problems if more kids are on the way. And, it's not very original. Think about how you paid for the boat when trying to come up with a name. You can always name your boat after your profession or industry; or if you are paying for your boat with money made in the stock market or gambling proceeds, perhaps you should incorporate that message into your boat's name. Of course, if you own your own company, it is a smart marketing move to name your boat after the company, and instill your brand at every port
