1986 Inchanter i/o TILT GUAGE

This is my first Checkmate and its my first i/o everything on the boat works fine Except the Tilt Guage. Its a VDO guage (stock ?) when I turn the key on the guage moves but thats it.
I don't have a clue how and where it hooks to the outdrive.
Can anyone tell me what to check ?

You want to check the sending unit which is located on the right side of the drive.(upper section)Its black,round and fastened with 2 stainless screws.They commonly go bad.Water eventually gets in and corrodes the contacts.
