http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gifThanks for putting them up.This is the first time ive had to check for them. We just had a baby boy.so its been hecktic. The pics were taken last fall on lake tetonka in minnesota at my grandpa's place. He has twenty acre's on the bay. It's were I spent every summer growing up.The trimate is all original. It has a evenrude115 with tilt and trim and I just put on a manual jack plate. The day the pics were taken I had a hydrostream trying to pass me and he couldn't do it. and he had a 225 merc. there is alot to be said about having a properly riged boat.well gota go. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
What 'Stream? I'd be damned if it lost to the Tri-Mate that does 53 miles an hour. Even a 13' Voo-Doo can do that man. I'd don't know what is wrong... Maybe the driver sucks real bad... It would pretty funny. If I was there I'd be cheering ya on... LOL http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifHe wasnt a happy camper thats for sure. My grampa sure thought it was funny.I have a19 pitch prop. how high do you guys think i can go in pitch? Does anybody know of some performance mods for this engine. It runs to good just to ****can and replace.
Any idea on what model it was? I'd be the one laughing at him. It shows the Checkmate can win against those faster boats eh.. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I'll look around for some stuff anyways...

I just got rid of An 85 16.5 foot diplomat with a 1994 Evinrude 120. I used a 24p Raker that turned 6000 rpm when it was cool and 5800 rpm when it was hot. Like you said, there is nothing like a boat properly set up. I saw just over 68 on gps on a couple occaisions. Not bat for a V-4. I smoked one stream, but got smoked by many!

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gifAnybody know where I can get a24p raker for a 78 115hp. Hey I found A 140 same make as mine but a couple of years newer.cheap. due to the smoked piston it has.Anybody ever converted a 115 to a 140 evenrude. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gifAlso I have to say this site rocks!!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif
You might be better off to do what I did, buy a newer rebuild. The Diplomat I had came with an 84 115, which is only about 90 at the prop. There is a dealer in East Moline, IL that has quite a few early to mid 90's rebuilds in the 120 to 140 range. I paid 3500 for the one I bought, well worth every penny! That motor screamed! Also, the newer motors are rated at the prop, the you are getting real horsepower. The name is Moline Boat and Motor, let me know if you want to give them a call, when I bough the motor I did, he had just picked up a Johnson 140 that he was going to rebuild. Could be your ticket.
440, Rick from Bayview Marine in Greenbay is having a Checkmate gettogether in Aug, should be a great time. We need to get as many people possible up there, this will be the first annual. Mike W is from around you area, I think he is going, we should all make a convoy. Cool site, a bunch of Mates going down the road to have a big party on the bay. Rick said if it is too rough for the smaller boats in the bay, there are plenty of place we can all go.

Whats the matter with beating up on hydro streams, I have a buddy that I run with, he has a vector with a 200. I can put a hurting on him out of the hole and on top end his set up is wrong, (chine walks bad), so he still can't catch me.
I love it

How long has he had the boat? A Voo-Doo can do sometimes 60, V-Kings, Valeros, Venus' can mostly do 90+ with the right set up. Before anyone quotes me. I said it. RIGHT SET UP...

You would be surprized at how few boats will run 90+, The GPS is hard to fool.
You can't go by the speedometer, they lie. Mine reads a little over 75 running 68.9 on GPS.

I'll go over and check it out. So which cm hull do you think is the fastest and best handling. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
To me, it has to be either the 21 Pulsare, set up right for the outboard side or the 21 persuader with a big block. The persuader with a big block is not only a sleeper, but there ain't much on the water that can beat it in its class!!! Awesome, fast, stable boat. External steering a must though!

Hey bill is a pulsare a good rough water boat. The rock river where i do alot of boating,"I live across the street from it"is pretty rough on the weekends do to the large boats.25ft+ on a river that at its widest is75yrds. makes for a rough ride.but due to the new baby my wife wants a bigger boat.sso im looking at different cm's
In my opinion, it handle small and large chop and white caps really well. The boat has a great balance to help keep it level over the chop at higher speed, and lower speeds for that matter. Some boats are stern heavy which will make the boat pound more, but the pulsares center of gravity is about perfect for all types of boating. The 5.5 inches of setback from the factory is a good neutral position, you can add more steback if you need more speed, but you will sacrifice some of the rough water charictaristics. If all I did was run the rivers around us, I would have bought the Pulsare, but I plan on trips to Lake of the Ozarks and playing between Chicago and Milwaukee on Lake Michigan, as well as the rough Mississippi here at home, so I am going with the ZT 240. I hope this helps some.
Sorry 440, I forgot, a good comparison for you from the Tri-Matew to the Pulsare is like going from a Skateboard ride to a Cadillac ride
The Pulsare is an awesome boat. Its also a great boating for any water-sports you may be into. Also, with the 225 ProMax or OptiMax, you get good results for the hull... It you want to go faster, the 300X might be a thought...

Z, stick to putiing out fires, you would not make it in boat sales HA-HA 440 has a new baby, I don't think the 300X should be the motor of choice, but than that is why i got out of sales, I was criticised for looking into what a person/family would be more compatible with and not just the "wow" factor
I forget Z. this ain't Canada, why do you keep pushing the Optimax down here? zzzzzThat is NOT the motor of choice here in the states.
Chris
02-21-2003, 10:58 AM
Hey Bill, the Optimax works really well on the Pulsare. The extra weight of it, seems to help with bow lift, and they are great on gas. If I bought a new one, that's probably what I'd order it with. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Chris, sorry, I did not mean to insinuate that tho Optimax is not a good motor, it is just that down here, you can get a much better price in a package with the 2.5 litre or 30. litre 225 EFI. I still want to know what that motor was on the back of Bayview Ricks Pulsare.
Sorry for the confusion.
I plan of staying as a Firefighter and not a boat salesman. With everything set up right, the OptiMax would be close/better than the ProMax. Let's not start a fight here, I'd get the 300X, then the Opti up here in Canada...

How about this, way too many choices to make, what, thaey have at least 5 different 225's plus what ever that XB is on Rick's Pulsare
Is the 300X even legal in Canada anyways? I am not too sure. Havn't looked it up yet... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Cool, gotta love two mates in the Family. Here is a though, head up to the Checkmate redevous, and I am sure Rick will send you home with a new one. Also, JW has a gorgeous 1195 Pulsare open bow W/ a Pro Max 225 onit that is advertised for a very reasonable price.
Yeah... I am probably of out that competition as I am getting a new car. Not too sure yet... I may still be able to get a boat... Can always dream...

I'd say low/high sixties then? Thats not too too bad when you think about it... Any idea what is possible motor combos for the boat?

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifIt all depends on how deep your pockets are Z.I got my new hp plate from mike at check mate today. good for 150 hp. but I am puzzled about some thing you could get a trimate 2 witha rating of 120hp or 150hp depending on the beam measurment.76" or 89" I didnt know the made too different trimate 2's. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
I'd get anything to make it faster... Trust me, I have $$$ around to spend on it. I am still looking around for something with a reasonable price...

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifAs soon as the snow melts i'll get some pics to you on the starflite.I'd 300x it Z http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif
Thanks. I now need something a little more cost worthy for me... A new Pulsare is out of the question, but a nice Starflite or Sportfire would be nice. I am not sure how the 300X would do, it may be too heavy for the hull? It would also cost sooo much... 20K?

The 300 is pretty light, you are pretty close in weight when you compare an old 200 to the new Pro max's
I'm not to familar with the 300, as I havn't ran one out. I was wondering how it would actually do on the hull? What numbers could I expect, anything like that.

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I think the 300X would turn some very respecable numbers on the back of a starflight.I would hope in the 80's. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
80's? It must get higher then that. Who knows it may even get 90's http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif I won't be the one getting it because that whole motor by itself would cost me a fortune, $ I don't have to spend so thats why I'm looking for a package.

Very low profile boat. It doesn't appear to be so high and I bet it sits even lower in the water. Maybe this is a boat I could be interested in.

There is almost no difference between a 115 and 140 besides the bubble back tuned exhaust cover.
