WHAT DO YOU OTHER BOAT OWNERS USE TO GET THE BROWN STAIN FROM RIVER WATER OFF OF YOUR BOAT IF YOU HAVE A WHITE BOTTOM.
LET ME KNOW YOUR REMEDYS. I TRY TO WIPE DOWN AFTER PULLING OUT OF RAMP BUT THE WATER WE BOAT IN IS VERY HARSH SOMETIMES AND LEAVE A NASTY BROWN STAIN IN MY WHITE BOTTOM.

I use tub and tile cleaner. Same stuff you use on your fiberglass bath tub.

It seems like most of this stuff is just some kind of acid. So for heavy stuff I've used muriatic acid cut 50/50 with water or with even more water. It usually does the trick. I usually start with just the water and start adding the acid slowly until it works. Then I rinse REALLY, REALLY well. I also wet down the ground and trailer first and keep rinsing. I hate doing it, but sometimes it's all that works. In my simpleton mind I've always figured most of the other stuff on the market is just some form of acid anyway.

One thing to watch out for with all this stuff is your trailer and the ground. All of these acid type products will screw up the paint on the trailer and kill vegetation etc. if you let it drip down undiluted. That's why I've always had a hose going the entire time wetting the ground and wetting the trailer.
Thankfully the Mate has never had to get the acid bath while I've owned her. There must be a better way than acid that still works.

Ive used bleach on my Glastron to get all the slime and crap off after it has been sitting in the ocean for three months. Came off real easily. I would never keep my mate on the mooring more than 1 day.
