I was out 'in it', but 'it' was in my driveway and I was doing my detailed spring first cleaning! What a great weekend in SW Michigan, sunny and low-to-mid sixties......Sure sounded good to hear the Promax running on the hose.......

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gifThats how I started out but then I had to go for a ride.72 and sunny and there was no ice on the river. After I pulled her out there was a couple more with spring fever out.Won't be long now.Now all I have to do is clean it back up and e-mail bill the pics of the hull.So he can see what it needs to bring her back to life. She still looks good but im pic http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/xxrotflmao.gifky
Can I be the first to say that I think you guys really suck!!! Especiall you 440 http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif!
I have to cross the Mississippi a couple of times a day, and there were 5 or 6 boats out today that I could see, we hit 75 today, 72 yesterday http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/xxrotflmao.gif Now if I had my boat, it would be 25 with snow still on the ground! No boat yet, so we have Spring!

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/eyes.gifI'm glad to here it.I'll be happy when I get mine in top shape and repowered. It will be nice to have a new interior and motor. But I'm still gona have to upgrade to fit the whole family in with the new addition. But he is costing me enough right now by himself.Which means I just have time to shop around for the perfect checkmate for me thats all. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm with Chris. I still got a ways to go. The ice on our Rideau Canal is just starting to melt, which means my Rideau River probably hasn't started either. I can say I have a good month or so before I will be boating http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

PS is the Miss and the Rock low?? It is here bad.....
Here by me, the Miss and Rock are VERY low. Typically this time of year we are around 10 ft and I just checked, we are at a hair over 4. It could be a rough summer if we don't get rain.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to pop in and say that this site has helped me alot. Bill's old Diplomat will be the first boat I've ever owned, so I really don't know too much about power boats in general. Most of my experience until now has been in canoes, or the occasional trip in a friend's boat. I've spent alot of time reading what you all had to say and trying to learn as much as I could from you guys. Thanks for that. I also like the pics of your boats and seeing what goes into restoration/building is cool as well. Sounds like I'm just going to miss you Bill, I'm supposed to be out to Rick's place on the 18th to pick up the Diplomat. The ice has melted tons in the last few days out here so it should be a nice open shot when I get it back. I can't wait! Funny thing is, I'll have made my first payment to the bank a week before I can even see her in person. Odd how things work out I guess. Anyway, I like your boats guys and have fun on the water for me!
Matt, I know the feeling, I have started paying for the new one before it is even finished. There have been boats out on the river here for the past two weeks, it is tough to watch! Let me know if you have any questions on the Diplomat when you get it!
Maybe Rick will get to go out for a spin with ya? I still think that I have ice, but I havn't been up lately to see. I want it all to melt by next weekend. Please Please Please...
