Hey guys I just bought a 1997 convincor 242 a couple months ago (love the boat) but took it to the Ohio river a week ago and got some serious scratches can you wet sand gel coat and buff it back out

If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail then they are too deep. However you could still wet sand and buff the area and it would definetly improve them.

along with what erik said , if too deep to rub out ,its not that hard to fill the scratch with gelcoat ,sand and buff .

Depends how deep they are.Could start with 1000 and then hit it with 1500.Machine Buff it with a rubbing compound and follow with a polishing compound.
