Butch
the seat bottom is a simple rectangle 63" wide x 19 3/4 deep with a support at the rear that the seat back rests against, the support is full with 1 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" at the bottom were it mounts to the seat base and 1" at the top edge with a 90 degree angle towrd the transom.
The seat back is 63" wide and 14 1/2" tall at the outter edge and 15 1/4" at the center. the seat back arches up in the center to match the countour of the hull, the bottom edge is flat acrost. On the top edge of the seat back there is a piece added that is 65 1/2" wide x 1" x 3/8"plywood, it is attatched to the back top edge of the seat back and has a renforcement piece added to the middle were the hinges screw on, it is 42"long x 1 1/2" x 1".
I will try to get some pics to help.

If you are rebuilding the benchseat base, rebuild it using starboard and ss bolts. It will have a much cooler look (brite white)and never ever rot again!! Starboard is a high density pvc coring material and easy to work with...just like wood.
