Brian;
I work at Diesel Systems in Mankato Mn. We rebuild pumps, injectors, turbos and drive in work. We sell the Bullydog and Edge programers. I like the Edge for GM and Ford and Bullydog for Dodge. I think Banks makes very good products, however I think they are over priced. The exhaust systems we sell are the Allied stainless steel systems.
The funny thing is, I work there and haven't owned a Diesel since the 1991 Chev. 6.2L I bought new. Now I have a 2001 Ford F350 crew cab with a V10. Best truck I have ever owned. I've had Ford Dodge and Chevy.
Enjoy you new Duramax. They seem to have the bugs worked out and are a great motor. Did you get the auto transmission?
By the way. Be sure you have a good relationship with your dealer before you add the power programers. The manufactures are getting real smart at looking for evidence of having a programer if you have a warranty issue.

Cool info jkeiper, I got the allison tranny with it, Does the bullydog system void warranty? I don't need that!! You think the edge system would be a better choice? How much juice do the systems really add?I mean is it really noticed. Thanks for the info.

Brian:
Here is a link to Edge. http://www.edgeproducts.com/chevy_duramax_lly.html
I don't see anything for the 2006 yet. I'll check at work today.
Yes, they make a HUGE difference in power and generally about 1-2 mile per gallon increase in fuel economy.
All of them can void warranty. Your dealer can fudge sometimes for you if he likes you, however if there is a major failure GM can and has sent a field rep. to look at it and then you are screwed.

Yes they all do. thats why you need some buddys in the dealer that dont car and will look the other way but i know there are some mechanics that will be a ass and report you to gm and void all and everything on your truck.
