1985 eluder stern drive

i just bought an eluder stern drive 19 ft 190 horse 3.7 lx is there any thing io can do with this motor top get more out of it i have not had it on the water yet hopefully today thought the motor was locked turns out to be the drive my brother has a 1.5 to one going to try that had 1.84 now if yall thikn of something let me know

Daren, is that the big 4 cylinder 3.7 or the small 6 cylinder 3.7?

You really need the bigger 1.84 gears with that motor. If you do put the 1.50 ratio drive on, you will have to pitch down the prop to compensate. You won't be able to pull the same pitch prop with the smaller gear ratio.
