Very nice... I still say 52 is a bit much... I can get a new Pulsare for that but it does look great... Where you find this one XSV? Autotrader.ca then boats?

The ZT 240 is probably going to be my next boat. I will sell my Pulsare to you in three years! LOL! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Depending if I break my neck waterskiing or not in the next couple of years, I may just upgrade to a newer Pulsare. It is a fantastick ski boat. But when waterskiing is out of the question, I will go for a ZT 240 or bigger. Probably an excellent boat for lake Ontario...it can get pretty rough sometimes! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/sick.gif

Break your neck? It isn't that dangerous is it? How fast do you go behind it? I am not sure what I do, but for my friends slaloms, its around 35 MPH or 3300 RPM... I prefer 2 skiis but slalom I can do fine...

Z, you can't even compare the two for price, completely different boats and there is alot mre differance than 3 feet.

I know... I was just saying if I wanted to spend 52 K on a boat, I'd rather it on a Pulsare, not a ZT240 that is already 3 years old. I know these boats are entirely different, but the price is not always good...

I usually ski between 38 and 42 mph. I do not enjoy skiing when it is too slow (alot more resistance). I grew up on skis and used to ski on a slalom course for years. Is it dangerous? Only if you tire yourself out and continue to be agressive, whipping back and forth like a madman! That is when you hurt yourself. I do not fall much anymore...but when I do, it is usually pretty spectacular! Ouch...you get the idea.

As for the ZT 240, can not say I have ever skied behing one but I am willing to bet it would suck! Do not get me wrong, it is a great boat. The Pulsare is hard to beat for an outboard ski boat.

Yeah... I hate going too slow, thats for the kids! I don't do any courses or anything fancy, just for fun for years up and down past my cottage. We are like the only ones, parents and kids who do water sports all day. We are out ALL day except for lunch, its definatly the life... Yeah, we us adults fall, OUCH! Face plants are the worst though...

If you were a total skiier and you wouldn't use your boat for anything else, a Nautique or Malibu may be yours. But for great skiing, a 70 MPH run and all around comfort, the Pulsare is the greatest boat for all of that.

You should see what a face plant looks like when barefooting! Double ouch! I used to try to barefoot by dropping the slalom ski. A good method when you do not have a boom. During my trials, I have face planted, skipped and twisted all for one glorious moment when I actualy succeded (for about 45 seconds) and then yet again another painfull face plant.

A Nautique or Malibu would obviously be the best ski boat. If you think a Pulsare is expensive you should see what they would cost new!! Ouch!

I havn't got around to barefoot yet. My buddy (with the Venus and used to Pulsare) does it by putting a styrofoam board between his legs and getting up to speed then stands up and its funny as hell watching him. He worst face plant was with a wakeboard this summer, you could hear it all the way back at our cottage. Its funny from the boat but not for the person out there! How much would these Nautiques cost approximatly?

Not sure what they sell for now. Like anything else, depending on options, etc... anywhere between $35K to $45K CDN. That is alot for a boat built with one purpose in mind (watersports).

It be good for a diehard skiier though and well spent for him. I am not sure of any of the speeds that they'd get because I have not used/been in/driven one.

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/sssh.gifThe ski nautics are good all around boats but they top out about 50mph. They have alot of tourqe for sking but not for hauling azz.But they can turn on a dime http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/sssh.gifIt depends on If you want a strickly ski boat or a complete all around boat like checkmate. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

50 MPH is alright, but I'd always get a Pulsare first. It can do anywhere from 70-80 MPH, great for skiing, and has lots of room to move around in. The Ski Nautique is for those people who ski all the time, not pleasure and race boating!

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I my self am looking for a pulsar with blue grafics to replace my trimate. I think its a good family boat and ski boat http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif As I have driven several comp ski boats over the years. They dont fit the bill for a family boat . http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/Eyecrazy.gif

440, look on boattraderonline.com. there should be one there from the Oshkosh area. That boat is rare with blue graphics though. That is the only one I have ever seen, and I used to sell and work on Checkmates in the early to mid 90's

Ok... Zeus listen up. To know stuff or have opinions, you DO NOT have to have driven one. When you look stuff up and read peoples ideas and look at pics, you get a very good idea of what its like. Why don't you tell me your opinion? What do you think on all of this? I can't stay I know all, but I know enough, probably more than you as all you can say is Post Post Post etc...
