I have an 89 Senator and every time I wash or go out in the boat , I get a pool of water in the bilge . There is a step just in front of the transom that the bilge pump is mounted to (maybe an inch high)and the water won't drain out even with the boat tipped as high as it will go. I don't think I can move the pump , as it would be screwed to the hull and not a mounting block . Is there an easy way to fill that low area without adding too much weight ?

Not really, all boats pretty much have that problem. I used to get my I/O Persuader up on blocks, THEN get the tongue up about 10' in the air. That got almost all the water out of the bilge http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

They got that bilge pump block in a bad spot, but where else could you put it.

Its really just a small square piece of plywood. If you could grind the glass away from it and remove it, you could mount a new one to either side of that crease in the bottom and the water should flow out better.

Or you could just suck it out with a wet dry vac.

Removing the step would not help , the drain hole is above it . I'd have to pull the BBC out to do anything under it . Wet , dry vac. is what I've been doing . Just looking for a better way of fixing it .
Thanks

The pump is mounted the same way in my Convincor. However, the block of wood that the pump is mounted to is slightly raised off the bottom 'V' of the bilge. The water just flows under it.

I always pull the plug at the ramp and let the boat drain as long as possible . I only live 100 yards from the ramp , so there is no acceleration . The Mich. DNR put a new ramp in this last spring and it is not as steep as in the past .
