I just purchased one pending a water test. It only has 34 hours on it. 7.4 Litre 310hp. Anyone have one. Are they a good boat? Any info.
That hull has only been out for a couple years. Very new to the Checkmate stable. They only have one size, and I was next to one when I toured the factory. I forgot to ask what the model was meant for, what it's attributes were. Good luck on your sea-trial, let us know what you think!!

ok i will let you know, the boat is in excellent shape, only 35 hours on it. How are the 7.4 Litre MPI engines? It says 310 horsepower but i thought that a 454 was more than that, unless its 310 at the prop
The MPI mag was 385, that is right for the plain MPI 454. It is a great motor, much, much better than the 502. The 502 had alot of problems through the late 90's, but the 454 was about as bullet proof as the 350!
My personal opinion. I think that this Stilleto boat somewhat relates to an inboard version of the Pulsare. I know there are the obvious similarities but thats what it reminds me of. I'd say that that boat could go somewhere mid 60's with the right prop. Anyone?

Not even close Z, the stilleto is Mates version of the family runabout. It has a 8'6" beam and is rather bulky. Nothing like a Pulsare
If you want to compare the Pulsare to a stern drive boat, it would have to be the ZT220, pretty flat bottom, narrow beam, fast with the right motor ect...
Beer Beer Beer Bubbbbba Beer Beer Beer. I think I have had too many. Maybe I should shut up until I'm undrunk. LOL http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well we'll see in a couple of weeks as soon as the ice melts in the NH channel. I know that it is sweet looking. It only weighs 3,200 lbs.
For a MAte that size and compared to the Pulsare, it is heavy. I am not knocking it, it is still an awesome boat! It is actually very appealling because of its wide beam for the extra room and with the extra overall weight, it has a pretty good ride in bigger chop. Good luck with her!

Thanks guys. The degree of deadrise is only 19 degrees. I know a 24 degree is a better ride. Is that correct? What is effected by the deadrise degree?
Pros to the 24 degree botoom is the better ride in rough water and softer landings when you want to try for that pilots certification. Downside is the 24 degree botoom is slower than a 17, 19, 20, ect because the flatter bottom is not displacing as much water.
What props you got to try on it? I'm not too sure what would go good on it as I am really only used to faster boats. ET should be my middle name. Do you have any pics for us?

I have pictures but i don't know how to post them.....
Where are these pictures? If they are already on a website, you just right click the image and copy the image URL. You then come back here and click the picture button in this reply box. You then paste the URL here and voila, posting is easy. If they are just on your hard drive, you'd have to get Chris to post them.

Anyone know how many gallons per hour it will use? 7.4 Litre MPI. My guess is 9-12 gallons per hour at cruising speed. Also it has the corsa quick and quiet exhaust. How do they sound, I don't want it to be that quiet.

I would say double the fuelconsumption and you might be close and when the quick and quiet is open, you are straight off the manifolds, and when you are quiet, you are about 80% prop and 20% manifold.

thanks chris for posting the pictures. The exhaust is the quick and quiet system but its not the capatins choice that is switchable. It is always thru hull. Thanks guys I can't wait to try it out. Anyone from Lake Winneapesakee in NH that can give me an update on the ice melting? Oh ya it says Funk N Groovin on the side of the boat...

I got it guys. It sounds awesome, nice and loud. I had about 300 yards to test it in before there was ice but I did hit 65mph with a little more to go. I love it I can't wait for WARM weather.
65, 65, Very nice. What do you expect WOT with more space? http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Manufacters say it will do around 67 but I have the corsa quick and quiet system so I would guess 68-70 mph.
You should not expect a speed increase because of that exhaust, if the factory tells you it will do 67, expect 64-65

I am going to GPS the boat. Today I went out with a full tank and 3 paople and my speedo read 67 mph. I would guess that it is a definate 65 mph boat. Gps will tell me for sure.
Got any pictures? Sounding good...

Oh I am perfectly happy even with 62mph. I wanted a boat that went at least 55 so anything more is a plus. Z06 there are pictures on the 1st page of this post. What do you think of it?
Oh the boat looks amazing. Anything with red gets me going. I was just asking if you had anymore new ones when it was out. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

Shaun......just thought i would let you know..you have a pretty rare bird their....we haven't made many of the long deck Stilleto .....not sure why though great little boat! It should run in the mid 60's. ...........And to answer the other question...yes we run alot of stuff at the factory but...it's hard to run every boat/motor combination...you guys on this site could help us out quite a bit by letting us know how your newer stock powered models run! Any input would be greatly appreciated! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

Thanks Kip. I love the boat. I will GPS it and let you know how I make out. I know the power trim and trim tabs makes a huge difference on that boat. I have more pictures Z06 I'll post more up later.
If they are not on a website, send them over to me and I will size them and get them up for you. I have it down pat now so I can help ya with them? My e-mail is Chris.Ellard9@sympatico.ca

Shaun, check out the "How To Post Pictures" thread over in board feedback. I'd still say it would be easier to for me or Chris to do it for you. This is what I did though. I resized them all to the small dimensions, then I had to use a FTP Program to upload them to my free sympatico webspace, then copied the link over to here. YOu cannot post them if they are on your computer on your desktop, hard drive, etc... My suggestion, stick with one of us, its alot easier and saves you time, when I did it in no less then 10 minutes http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Bill...10 MPH ???? I'm sure i never told you anything over 70 more like high 60's......you also have to consider what your talking about.... speedo or GPS! Your boat also has what... 30 minutes on it? Gotta break it in dude...motor still tight with break in oil, drive tight it takes some time...be patient my man!Just to give you an example the boat i ran 2 years ago(300 Con) ...when we sold it we put a brand new XZ drive on it and it lost 5-6 MPH until the drive got broke in! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I'm surprised he hasn't got any pictures for us yet.
I love your boat Shaun, even though I like the O/B's. What did you say it did for speed again????? http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Wew... Thanks Kip, I hope I pick up some, all I could muster up was 54mph, on the gps and speedo. What scares me is that is at 5300 rpm's Oh, try 6hrs, not 30 min my man! Of course I could have lost a mph or 2 from all of the water in the boat...
54 http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Ok I am running a Mirage plus 23 pitch SS 3 blade prop. I was out today and it was choppy and I got 64 mph out of a GPS with 2 people on board and 3/4 of a tank. So I am guessing it should do 65 anyways on a calm day with less fuel and 1 person. I was happy with that run at 64. My speedo reads 65-66 and at 55 mph and less my speedo was exact to the gps. It is definately quick and you can't beat the sound of a big block with thru hull. Handles awesome in rough water too. Checkmates are awesome what else can I say.................
You said it..

I have a question. The other day I was trying to find the Coast Guard Capacity plate on my stilleto with no luck. I gave up after 2 minutes. Anyone no where they hide those things?
Hey Shaun, it should be located right by the throttle. If not there, call Mike at Checkmate, he can get you a new one. How is she running?

OK thanks I'll call. What's the number? I wonder why mine isn't there? How do they mount on? It's running perfect. I put almost 30 hours on it already. Not that bad on fuel either. Can't wait for the WARM summer weather. I still haven't spent a night on it yet, not warm enough yet. Howz yours running Bill?
Shaun, I do not have the nember with me now, but it is on Checkmates web-site. Mine is running good, though loseing RPM's for some reason, but not loseing speed. I am down to 4900 rpm's with the 25 Mirage, I am going to toss the 23 Mirage back on of the weather clears up today and see where the RPM's and speed stand with that.
Have a good weekend!
