I didn't exactly find this place. I posted over on the Checkmate Boats Inc. Guestbook and I guess Chris saw my post and gave me an e-mail to check it out. I bet I wouldn't have found this place if it wasn't for that e-mail. Thanks again Chris. January 5th, 2003 is when I joined too.

I am glad the site took off. Duringt he 1st week it was slow. We then started (or at least me) started to promote the site on a few boards. In a nice way mind you. Private meassage and e-mail. Then Chris was able to get us on the search engines and the floor gates opened.

Could not tell you where or when.
But the name was stuck in the back of my brain.
So, when I started looking for a boat I looked for Checkmate. The rest is history!
When I was about ready to pick my Checkmate up,
I did a search at Yahoo and this board, I think, was listed as #2.

I found the site when I was serching for good pic's of checkmates, I watched for a couple months then signed in. I've had a love for checkmates that dates back to when I was a kid and my dad had a little playmate. I finaly got my own a couple years ago and LOVE it.
