Was wondering what engine originally came with this boat. Just purchased the boat. It has a Mercury 1150, serial #3948377, 115 Horse.

Looking at the information here on the board it says the 16'6" is rated for a 125hp, this is for the 89 modle year, can't see them changing much.

Whats spec's on your boat. Speed, lenth, prop, ect

If it's an 1150, I would think the motor would be older than the boat. When did Merc stop doing the model number stuff? '81 or '82?

According to repair manual I just got, the serial # makes it a '74.
