Hey Bruce
Help me out here:
7 & 10 are on Rosseau at port sandfield (same boat house - i was in that one)
The log boat house is on Lake Joeseph? There is another log boathouse on Lake Muskoka that is a 3 slip with living quarters above. It also has a copper fireplace chimeny that goes right up the center of the living area - neat.
5 is on lake Rosseau near the entrance to the Joe river i think (if i'm right, the boat house is awsome but the boats inside are junk!)
9 is up Lake Joe just past the Joe Club, right?
I can't figure out where the other ones are. I would really like to know where the first one was taken - i like that one!

Hi Chris E, here's the run down to the best of my knowledge, you know the first thing that goes once you reach 45 is your memory don't Ya !!.
I usually launch at Foot's Bay and travel north on Lake Joe and then come screaming back down via the Channel to Port Sandfield and then North on Lake Rosseau.
1. Lake Joe, own island, just around the corner from Foot's Bay going North, up one of the smaller coves let's say.
2. Lake Joseph, North end, just on the other side of Gordon Bay.
3. Lake Joe, heading north from Foot's Bay on the West side.
4. Lake Joe, heading back toward's Foot's Bay
5.Lake Rosseau, just north of Port Sanfield
6. Lake Rosseau, kind of behind "Cleveland's House"
7. Lake Rosseau just about 30 seconds away from Port Sanfield Marina. **Not the same house as 10 but close.
8. Lake Rosseau, about a 9 iron away from House 7.
9 and 10. Lake Joseph, heading north from Port Sandfield up the Channel towards Foot's Bay. Yup just past the Joe Club.
I know this means nothing for a lot of you, but in this Muskoka Region, there are 3 Lakes which are populated with many many Cottages in the 1-10 million dollar neighborhood.
Chris E is fortunate enough to work and live in this area and for us other "pugs" well, we just go there and Dream !!. Although it's a 2 hour drive 1 way for me, you can go for hours and not see the same shoreline and you never know who you may run into; lots of hockey players and celebrities have summer homes there.

Hi Chris E, I don't think so, I have sent you 2 pictures that include the cottage and the boathouse of the one in question along with the full shot of the boathouse and cottage of number 1, to your HotMail E-Mail.

The yellow place was built by one of the partners at a marina i worked for. I'm almost positive that it was his personal house that your took the pic of (he builds spec homes/cottages). I don't know how he got away with it, but he was able to put up a 6 slip boathouse, when everyone else is only allowed 3. He sold it last year for 3.6 million. Thanks for the pics - they remind me that summer will return again.

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gifWOW!!! We don't see boat houses like that down here. What do they do, just let them freeze in in the winter? Are they floating? The ones on the river down here float. Man if I had one of those, I'd throw my house away. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Jim:
Most new boathouses around here are now built with steel pilings driven into the lake bottom. The older boathouses are crib docks, some float and some are suspended over the water - they are really neat. They stay in the water year round, a lot of people "bubble" them to keep the water from freezing. But a well built crib dock will put up a good fight against ice shoves. They also lower the lake level 3 feet in the winter to help prevent damage.
The Muskoka area is a different world altogether. Most people who cottage up here have more money than they can possible spend - but no one will give me any!!
Jeez, every one of those is nicer than the house I live in............

That area is filled with actors, athletes, and celebrities.
Not to mention there are hundred of boathouses like this or almost as nice in the Muskokas.
Well it may be nice to have one of these big fancy places but I am just happy to have a cottage to enjoy with the family all year round http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
