If your compression is stock (approx. 125 psi); regular might be OK, but I'd rather see mid-grade (it's not worth the risk to me). If the compression has been raised (up to 140-145 psi), then high test is needed. Above 145 psi, high octane racing fuel is needed.

The tower for power had good compression. I wold run hi-test. Spark knock is hard to hear in a 2 stroke. Better to be safe.

Oops, sorry I didn't look at the avatar photo closely to see it was the straight 6 instead of a vee. In that case, I'd agree with 175Checkmate, stick with high test.

ALSO....Sea Foam is OK, just don't over do it. I started using it after having it recommended to me by a mechanic. Your motor was made for 87 octane, but you can never hurt it by running 90+ octane in it to be safe. AND DON'T USE gas with alcohol in it! Buy gas from a big name station that is busy. That way you have a better chance of getting gas that is fresh and actually the octane that's posted on the pump.....
