how much oil is in a 90 hp evinrude. i flushed mine
out nad refilled it. it only took about 13 ounces, that didn't seem like enough, but it started coming out the top hole which made me think it was full

The proper procedure for filling lower units is fill from the bottom till it comes out the top - no real measure required - so you did it right. Drain and fill with the lower unit in the down and level position. Remember to always use quality oil - oil is way cheaper then gears. Always change the gaskets on the drive screws. The screw with the magnet goes on the bottom, the standard one goes on top. Always change lower unit oil in the fall - that way if you have water in the gear case you'll no before it freezes and splits the lower in two.
