What should be my 1987 25ft convincor wot operating range? I have a 454 mag with a alpha1 drive. Also what should my top speed be?

according to the books from merc.. your 87 454 should spin 4400 rpm..

Happy, is 4400 the low end of the WOT range or the high end for that engine? Sound low to me.

I am not sure if I am trimming out correctly, but all I can pull is 4000-4200 at 55-57mph. What should my correct top speed be for my boat. I am using a Stainless steel 21 pitch mirage plus prop.

Check your owners manual or the air breather cover, your WOT should be shown.

My 92 Persuader 234 w/ 454 mag runs 5000 rpm w/ 24 pitch Turbo SS prop at full trim.

Trim and pitch makes all the difference when it comes to WOT. Try trimming the drive up at full throttle little bumps at a time the highest rpm you can produce without dropping mph is your WOT. I bet you can get more than 4200 out of your setup. If you can't, you may have a trim limit switch on your drive which is set to low.
