I purchased an 1987 convincor with a missing electric engine hatch lift. Does anyone know the open and close measurements so that I can order a replacement.

it is crucial to get the right size lift, i mentioned this somewhere else here, but i will repeat this story:
we sold a 260 sea ray to a guy and they didn't put the hatch lift in the right spot from the factory. it still had some travel in it. the customer kept his hand on the switch a little bit to long and pulled the bottom of the hatch lift out of the floor of the boat. so the hatch lift was just banging around in the engine compartment, it hit the serpentine belt and shredded it. of course with no belt to drive the water pump he cooked his engine. all covered under warranty but it the lift had been the right length (or installed in the proper spot) it would have never happened.
If you can not find any published spec's measure the distance between the connection points w/ hatch closed and hatch opened to a reasonable position. The closed measurment is the closed length of the ram and the open measurment is the extended length of the ram. The difference between the measurments is the movment you want in the ram. The spec's on any ram you look at will be listed as closed (retracted), open (extended), and movement, like closed 24", opened 42", movement 18". The closed dimention is the most important to match w/ the new ram you choose.
