Johnson 175 serial??

Hi all. I just purchased an 86-87 Johnson 175 hp outboard on my checkmate. I need to find the serial number. I have looked all over and all I can seem to find is casting numbers!!! Thanks ahead of time!!!!

It should be on the fixed transom mount area, if I remember right, looking at the motor from the rear, on the left side. To be more clear, in the area between the transom bolts. If not the left, check the right... Otherwise, call your local Bombardier dealer and they can tell you exactly where to look.
