Hey, anyone thinking of going to the OPA race? My engine builder Jason Saris of Performance Marine will be there in Stylin (F1 class). I plan on going down. The race starts 1PM Sunday Sept 12th and runs just north of statue of liberty on the Hudson.

Dave,
The boats in that race pit in Liberty State Park. The same place the NYC Poker Run was held at.
I have been to that race a few times before. You really can't get a good look at the boats from the water. Being that the Hudson is narrow, the race officials force you to watch from either end of the course. So, you can only see them coming, slowing down for a turn, then going away. This year, I was planning on driving over to Liberty State Park to get a good look at the boats in the pits, then watching from the shore. You get about the same view as being on your own boat while anchored up.
If you wanted to hitch a ride in my car, just come down here to meet up with me.

Dave,
I forgot to mention.. The only problem I have been noticing about boat races this year is a real small turn out. Ever since O.S.S. has split away from A.P.B.A. it seems that the thing that was hurt the most was the races themselves. I am not sure of how this has effected S.B.I. , maybe your friend who is competing can tell you about the # of boats entered.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that there has been virtually NO TV coverage this year. I hope that these millionares can get their act together for next year.
