1979 trimate I
140HP Evinrude 1989
the steering is tight, no play whatsoever
two props 1)23 pitch SST 2) 24 pitch Raker
no jack plate, but engine mounted on top holes

Adding a jackplate will help. This will allow you to run the engine higher, this will reduce the drag. It helped on mine. Also add a water pressue gauge.
