Does anyone know where the thru-transom exhaust tips are supposed to be located on my 86 Ambassador (Alpha I)? I bought the Corsa ASR tips (with Captain's Call cutouts) and it doesn't look like they'll fit between the power steering pump and the swim platform. Does anyone have a recommendation on what I should do?

What manifolds are people buying that give a decent performance increase? Dennis Moore (who wrote Small Block Chevy Marine Performance) is selling GLM cast iron tuned manifolds on his website. They seem like a good price/performance value, but I wanted to check with y'all.

Thanks!
Greg

(oh, and if anyone can tell me where to find new latches for my Ambassador's engine compartment hatch, that would be cool!)

1986 Ambassador 350 (+.040, balanced, cam, intake, mild porting) ~300HP. Time to buy a GPS!

If your gonna get entirely new manifolds.Go with a cast aluminum version. They'll flow better and you'll shave some weight off the back of your boat.I see em on ebay all the time. Then run 4" exhaust hose straight back to your tips. The latches are probably made by attwood or perko.Call Mike at Checkmate and he'll set you up. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

Thanks for the info. I've been searching but still haven't found the exact latches I need, but I sent an email to Mike at Checkmate.

There was another Mike on the boards a while ago that had a 86 ambassador, and had the thru hull template I think... Did anyone else get a copy or know where Mike went?

Thanks,
Greg
