Thanks for the help with the picture!!
Future pictures will be of better quality.
This was a still from a mini dv camcorder.
I'll get some in the water of course.
Had one ride in it the day we settled on the price.
I think it has what I used to call a "power prop"
As far as speed goes, seller told me should do between 50 and 60.
I did buy it for skiing/tubing. I would never dream of checking out the top end!!
Will need to verify pitch, tach and speedo.
Motor runs great!
I remember my old Merc, a 1962 45hp, 27mph tops!
**I need a good link to get info on Merc's oil injection system.(1987 115) Mine was taken out before I bought it. The marina said that they had trouble with them???
Thanks!!

I don't trust the oil injection, of coarse I spin mine pretty hard. I had mine removed when the powerhead was rebuilt. I just mix and go.

Thanks for the info.
I'll probably stick with the 50:1 routine.
That way I know the oil is getting to the engine.
Nice looking boat!! 58mph!! That's flying. Ever worry about flipping the boat over??(Wind under the bow)
My Father-in-Law witnesed that type of accident a few years ago. The driver did not die but did break his back!!
What pitch prop are you using?
What is the best pitch for combo: Skiing/Riding(testing)
Jack Plate: Not sure what that is. Does it allow you to raise/lower the motor with respect to the boat?
My seats will be needing some work.
Any suggestions?
One of the members of this site is doing the job himself. Hmm..... I thought about going the same route.

Here is a little video of 85predictor's mate in action!
The file is a little big...so if you're on dialup it may take awhile for it to download.
It is also in the Apple Quicktime format...so you'll need it to watch the file http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
