F150 the boat is Black with Gold metalflake, its a nice combo. Inxs the boat has a 6" setback and the top speed is 79.4 gps, as I asked F150, I need another prop, I am turning to many R's. Looking for a 3 blade spinneili 27-28 pitch, Know of any. Thanks for the comments guys. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

That is a mighty fine looking boat, you certainally would't know its an 84,puts a lot of new boats to shame.HOW did you get the deck looking so good?Hope it isn't a secret you can't share with fellow Checkmate fans.I have an 85 Predictor that would really like a shiney sparkling deck like that.

Brian
01-27-2004, 08:28 PM
MrWick Lots of elbow grease, the boat was clean when I got it but it need some wax, so what I do is very time consuming but as you see it works. I use a fiberglass cleaner(Collinite No. 920)on the whole boat first, then I use mothers wax on the whole boat, and finish with a polish made by eagle one. No buffer, needed just good clean rags, LOTS of them.I do this 3-4 times a year and the boat is washed evertime it comes out of the water, I also keep it in a garage covered all year, except when its not in use. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Good luck!!

nice but what kinda speed are you getting out of it?

Brian
07-17-2004, 07:48 AM
Montiboats24, speed that depends on what prop I am running, The best speed I have was averaged out to just about 80 gps. The boat gets out of control. But thats what makes it fun.

I dont even know where to start dude, thats probally the only enchanter in the states thats in that good of condition, just to throw a number off the top of my head if it was my boat i would probally ask like 7 grand for it. Because there was a a 84 enchanter in the bargainnews a few weeks ago and it had a merc black max 150 on it with a jack plate and it said it needed TLC and he was asking 4 grand. So with your motor and the over all cond. of the boat i think 7 would be resonable. Not to mention the speed of the boat aas soon as the buyer knew that it would be a sale.

hey brian, i was wondering how much you paid fot the h.o. because i was thinking bout replacing the yamaha because one of my friends only works on evinrude and johnson and he will work on my stuff for free. also are there any disadvantages of the engine itself, thanks

Brian
08-16-2004, 08:10 AM
I paid at little over 12, thats dealer cost. They are around 14-15 for non dealers. No dislikes yet. Gobs of torque. Nice and smooth running as well. I can turn a
29" mod. SRX prop, at 5900rpms, so the motor is very strong all around the power range, not just down low.

Welcome captainmorgan http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/welcome.gif

Here's how to post pictures
1) you can email them to Chris
2) You can open your own picture host..

http://www.freepichosting.com/

Put your pictures on the web and then you can post. Once your picture is on the host, right click on the photo, go to the bottom of the drop down and select properties, copy the url address. Once you have copied the address open a new post or reply, click on the little green box at the top on the right, paste the full address in the box and hit ok. When you 'post now' the picture will appear in your post

Brian

Hi Brian! The pictures don't do your boat justice. It's even better in person. Hope to see you in the spring. Enjoy the cold!!!

Brian
12-01-2004, 09:58 AM
John good to hear from you, it was hard to see everyone this year, for me because of the rotating shifts i was out when everyone was not. Thanks for the comments on the boat. How are you doing? Hope all is well, and have a good holidays.

John B

We didn't make it out as much as usual since my accident. Still "legless", but making some progress. Made it down to the NYC Poker Run in the Checkmate from Catskill & probably five other days on the river. Plus out twice in the 33' Apache. Did you see that yet?

Brian
12-02-2004, 09:54 AM
Good to hear about the progress, thats great! No I didn't see the 33' I was only out a hand full of times last year as well. What color is the apache? Maybe next year!

Brian

John B
12-02-2004, 10:51 AM
Thanks about the progress...Too bad you didn't get out alot either. The season is too short to begin with, and it s*cks when you can't take advantage of the good days!!
The Apache is white & maroon with nice (paint/airbrushed)graphics. Hopefully this link will work.

John, that’s one great looking Apache. You should put up some larger pics, or just send them to Chris. I'm assuming you don't take it out much due to the hassle of launching a 33' in Catskill.

John B
12-03-2004, 07:14 PM
Thanks Dave. She is still a work in progress, I have quite a few interior projects in mind. ie. new dash panel, different colored bezels, new switch panels, new steering wheel. I have boxes of stuff from Trick Marine. It's slow going from the wheelchair. Be careful on your new F7, I got here from a snowmobile accident.
Your right, the Catskill Launch is not very friendly for this boat. We can only get it in & out at high tide. It's a handful for my fiance, but friends and other boaters have been kind.

Dave's ZT260
12-03-2004, 09:55 PM
I really don't know if Chris would have a problem posting a non-checkmate picture, but I can do it for you if you send it to me. Make sure its a larger photo and send it to my email (its listed in my user profile)

I'm sorry to bring this up, but what happened on your sled? I lost 2 friends over the years to snowmobile accidents and I always try to learn from others. Are you recovering? I understand if you would rather not discuss it. Thanks-

Thanks Brian,
I’m new here & still finding my way around. I never realized that was your boat on the entrance page. That’s all the pics I need to see. You have one sweet mate there. I have a nice 85 exciter like yours. I’ll be sweetening up the deck and adding a new Checkmate interior shortly. My boat has a warmed up 175 2.4 Its set up right & pulls a DAH 27” SRX to 6300 rpms & gets 195 lb me out on one ski. I’m thinking a 27 would be a better prop for you if you can pull the extra RPM’s If you were in Mich I would hook up with you & let you try it. I’m thinking your Enchanter should be riding nice on the pad at 80. Do you have solid mounts & the motor up high enough? Is your SRX customized? John J at DAH really wakes em up.

I love this site. I get my act together & get some digital pics soon.

John

Brian
02-17-2005, 08:05 PM
John the enchanter runs good, over 80 and yeah my 29" srx is worked already. The motor is plenty high enough, and yeah it have solid mounts. The boat runs good, its already been through two merc's and one omc. I just keep going bigger until I can't hang on to the boat, i'm getting to that point right now with the omc.Post some pics of your ride, i would like to see it.Later
