I have a 21' starflite with 5.5" of setback on my manual jackplate. I am thinking on getting a hydraulic plate. If I get it with 10" setback what could I expect from the extra 4.5" of setback??

Ever hear of John Tiger Jr.? He has written for Hot Boat, Family and Performance boating, Bass and Walleye boats......
Anyway, he had a Starflight and preferred 14" of setback. He felt that provided the best balance for your big hull. You'll add stress to the transom though, make sure it's dry and strong...
