I have a KILLER set of factory Merc GM square port High-Perf heads that had $1000 of very high quality professional porting, flow work, and the chambers polished & cc matched. These were brand new Merc/GM castings before the porting and were run very little (under 25 hours) when pulled off motor and upgraded to Aluminum Darts and 8-71 Supercharger package.

These out-flowed Merlin Heads easily... Big power gains over stock... Photos available...
A great set of square port heads for $750 pair! (please note: these are bare castings)

Jim,would these heads perform better than my current ones?Would they require headers first to get the maximum potential from them?Talk to me Mr.Motorhead! You da man Jimbo! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Heads are still available!!

Fnshrmaster... My cottage is on Lake Huron... in the thumb of Michigan 6 miles NE of Caseville. GREAT PLACE to enjoy the family, boats, and beach (although maintainance & taxes suck)!!! Glad it's only 2-1/2 hours away from home...we spend the majority of June, July and August up there and worth every penny!!!!!!!!! I just need a CHECKMATE again... http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/brickwall.gif

boatn70...and...fnshrmaster...HEADS ARE AVAILABLE... $750 or MAKE OFFER! I am going to shoot photos of them (If I can get a clear close-up detail shot)...I can e-mail them if interested (photos that is)...

P.S. Kurt, I can hook you up with a 540ci supercharged motor (1000+hp) for that 25' GTX...then you can go have some mph fun! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif

jim,
got any flow numbers on those heads?

jrumon
11-10-2004, 09:08 AM
Sorry, I forgot to answer that on flow numbers.... The guy who had the heads done did at the time I built his motor... but I gave him everything back when the job was done and will have to see if he kept any of if (but I highly dought it).... http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

If it's any indication of the quality... these heads were brand new casting prior to dropping over $1000 on professional port & flow work... Then another $1000 on the best valves, springs, retainers, and correct set-up. These are SUPER-SWEET heads...he just switched to hugh dollar aluminum ones when I supercharged/innercooled it (he has money to burn)!!!

jrumon
11-10-2004, 09:53 AM
P.S. The only reason he went to the aluminum heads instead of these was better heat disapation with the supercharger and running pump gas at higher boost levels. There is nothing wrong with these, they were just up-graded for the SC application! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
