Hi Guys, I found this the other day, seems to be a reasonable price ($8,500.00). I spoke with the sales person, the trailer is a 2000 model. I'd love to buy this one, it's just that it's a 12 hour drive one way, it looks good from the pictures, but as we know, that can be deceiving. That's a long way, just to take a look.
If by chance anyone happens to be in the area for a quick look, I know I'd appreciate any comments. There is probably someone out there looking for a Starflite.

I would love to have a starflite over my pulse. I really like the look of the closed bow long decks.

I would love to have one too. I think they are THE best looking mate. Infact I am looking to buy a starflite hull to restore.

I guess that means I got a GREAT deal on mine.
Awesome looking boat (is there a bad looking Starflite or CHECKMATE for that matter?).

boat looks real clean and nice but I only gave 5K for mine last year with a 240Hp merc. Also the trailer is overkill for that boat, fully loaded she only weighs in at 2000 lbs and a tandem axle trailer is a bit overkill, nice trailer just un-needed. shane
I still have my 89 black, white, and red flight for sale. Pics can be viewed at - photobucket.com/albums/a166/krf200 use password starflight. I no longer have a truck to tow her, let alone the time or money to mess with a third boat. She needs a new powerhead on the 200horse 89 merc.
Someone else will enjoy this summer with her. One of the biggest Merc dealers in the country, in Delaware, has rebuilt Merc powerheads for $3K and a ton of options from 200-300horse if you don't have an engine. I would not run this with less than 200horse - and if speed is your main concern would repower with a 250. I have a buddy who ran one with a 300rude, and ran mid-80s before coming unglued. As for the boat with the two axle trailor - that doesn't make any sense. This boat comes in right around a ton.
Boat is clean, been under cover this winter -not that we have even had a winter this year - and comes with a 23laser II wheel, new stereo with remote, detachable face and cd ,with twin 2 way infinity speakers, fire estinguisher, lines, fenders, etc.
Currently listed at $4,000 - will entertain any offers that make sense. Awesome looking mate, great color scheme, just needs a home. She is currently in PA - about 30min from Gettysburg. Ken Free, Baltimore MD

Ken, I am interested in your starflite, would you be willing to sell just the hull and trailor??

Hi KRF1, I believe I saw in one of your earlier posts with respect to selling the boat that it was 1 cylinder that was blown. Do you know for sure that an entire new power head would be necessary. Perhaps that 1 bad cylinder could be machined slightly larger with an oversized Piston etc etc. I've had this done on a Mercury Sport Jet which had 2 bad pistons and it kept the price down a bit.
As you indicated, a new power head is in the $3000.00 - $4000.00 range which adds a considerable amount of additonal money to it.
Just wondering !!
Thanks

Bruce, I live in NC and travel a lot. If you are really interseted in the boat, I might be able to look it over for you. I can also get better pics. Let me know. I have an 87 Starflite (red, white and black) and the clear is pealing in spots. The boat is still mint for the age but after 20 years its about time to reclear it. Even though the boat has a fresh rebuild, seems a little high on the price. After all the boat is twenty years old.

Hi Jmahler, thanks for the offer, however, when I got right down to seriously considering Ken's Starflite, the fact that I'd have to leave it outside on my driveway just didn't make sense for a lot of reasons.
As you say, it appears to be priced a little on the high side compared to some previous Starflites that have presented themselves for sale.
Again, thanks for the offer, but I'm going to stick with my Pulse for now until I can come up with an alternative to store a bigger boat.

I've always shrink wrap my boats....I couldnt imagine that its any worse than in the garage....

Hi Boston, I agree with you, Shrinkwrapping is the way to go for the Winter. My real concern is during the summer time, residential area, double car driveway, single and a half garage, 1 car, 1 van, 1 wife who views the boat as something that gets in the way, 1 teenage daughter who just got her driver's license, 1 son who lives for skateboarding.
My precious 21 foot Starflite (in the future) would become not only a Pylon to manuever by, but a backstop for the Basketball net, flying skateboards not to mention a target for some undesirable to backup to and drive off with. I'd spend more time removing the coupler and chains to keep it secure than using it.
Something has to give, perhaps a new house in the country.
Take Care

I hear you man. I live with my parents and brother in a 3 square mile town with over 40k people. We had to tear down our porch just to make room for my car http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
Luckly one of my good friends who lives in the next town over has a nice big yard where I can tuck away my mates under a carport http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Idealy I would store it indoors but its all good, Im just thankfull for his help
