what iss the best methode and cleaner to restore the vinyle seats. I have white seats that nedd some good cleaning they i tried 3m vinyl cleaner and restorer but didnt do the job.

i use fantastic. and then follow up with some 303

I use Mean Green a product i have only ever seen for sale in Giant Tiger.

Its a serious cleaner and degreaser, works like a charm. My boat seats glow after a good cleaning.

Depending on the vinyl, I have had great results with acetone on soft vinyl. If left on too long, it can dissolve the vinyl. Move quickly wiping with the acetone saturated cloth. On my newly acquired Checkmate (1996), this vinyl is more duable, I was able to use a
whitewall / blackwall tire cleaner called "Westley's". Spray it on, rub briskly with a stiff brush, and rinse off quickly with clean water. Make sure there is no cleaner residue remaining. Then wipe clean dry. Afterwards, use a good vinyl protectant like Mequires.

Be really careful what you use on the vinyl fellas. Strong cleaners should be avoided as much as possible. Hopefully Bob can give us some good tips!

If you use the wrong products it can break down some of the UV protectants that are in the vinyl. That can leave the seats somewhat vulnerable to premature aging, cracking and discoloring etc. And I don't think Mate recommends using anything like Armor All as it can lead to premature aging. I know I've had good experience using a soft bristle brush and lightly scrubbing with it for cleaning stains.

When you get everything cleaned up, be sure to put a good vinyl protectant and conditioner on as the final step.

the fantastic works good for the cleaning part. its non abrasive and cuts any oils that may be on the vinyl. 303 protectant is a product i sell that is recomended by all the tonneau cover manufacturers. its got a moisturizer and a uv protectant in it. if you have receipts for this 303 the your tonneau cover will be warranteed for life. they also have a cleaner. http://www.303products.com/main.php

When I was at the Checkmate factory I asked the same question. They gave me a brocherure on Freedom products. I haven't used them, but I think I will try it. At least the vinyl protector and the Micro Seal for the gelcoat. Has anyone here used Freedom products?
