Here is my 1983 Predictor Project. It needs some paint work, and the transom replaced.

The motorwell. Notice the slit in the top edge. This is where it was cut to pry the deck loose from the adheasive that holds it to the hull.

The seats go with the boat when it sells.

Here is the transom. I bought it with the wood already removed, how cool is that. It looks like wood is there, but that is really the image of the old wood molded into the fiberglass.

I might just flip it over and blueprint the bottom since it could use some work anyway.

Hey Cooperider,
Sorry to ask a stupid question.......just shows how limited my boating knowledge is.
What does "blueprinting" a hull mean...and what's involved?

Most boats when they are removed from the mold are not fully "cured"(hard) yet. As they cure there is some shrinkage that can produce a small "hook" to a strait surface.

Blueprinting invloves straitening the last few feet of the hull. To make it as close as you can to how it was designed.

Sometimes hulls have "hooks" designed into them and this could be done also.

It is also a great way to repair the damage that hulls can get from sitting on a trailer wrong.

The '83 has damage to the hull from spending most of its life in the water. In a side picture you can see where the water line was on the sides. In order to fix this, I need to repaint the hull, so while it is flipped over, I will be checking the bottom. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/surf.gif

I really enjoyed that boat. Looks like you will be enjoying it even more.

And, as the guy who removed all the old wood, that effort alone was just about worth what I sold the boat for.

Very functional trailer too.

I'm glad it went to a good home. Keep the pictures coming.

You are going to do to the boat, what I intended to do. Your level of skill will allow you to do it, where I was going to have to hire a bunch of it done.

Coop, I think you should custom paint this boat not put it back to stock. And do it in gel just to show people what can be done.

I just picked up a pattern from Checkmate for the transom. Its from the new Pulsare 1600 and is nearly the same as the Predictor. Just a couple of changes. Since its a pattern for a production boat I need it back to them by Monday. I like living this close to the factory. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/surf.gif

I wonder if that guy who was working on the plug for the 16 footer designed any of my Mates???
It feels like I've been there myself now. What a great company.
I really think its cool that they still can make you a boat that is no longer in production. awsome!

And if the guy with the Sleekcraft that needs a transom isn't here by Wednesday, I'm pulling this into the garage.

Here are some pics with the cover off. I can't wait to get started.
