Water Pressure?

Just installed a water pressure gauge.At full speed I am showing around 8 to 9 psi.Shouldnt it be higher?At cruising speed its around 5.I have a new water pump.What gives?Its a 1992 XRi 200.I dont think I have any kinks or pinches,that would give a false HIGH reading,right? http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/brickwall.gif

Yeah it would seem to me that you might have a kink in the hose, or maybe you have a low pressure high volume water pump, my omc has this, I only run 12-15 psi at WOT. Call you merc dealer he would definitly know.

You should have at least 12 psi at WOT. It depends where you tapped in for your line. If you tapped in on the hose for the tel-tale, you'll get lower readings.
