hey Guys, i was wondering. i was going 43 with two people (i weigh about 240lbs and the other person weighed about 200lbs.)the prop on the boat was too small, it cavitate a little. The boat is a 19.6ft with a 1984 140 evinrude. what do you guys think with a 225hp 2.5 merc. thanks

Bluecheckmate, What year is the boat and the model name? Is it is it a bowrider or closed deck?

its a 1978 and its a closed deck. sorry its a 2.4 225 merc

Bluecheckmate, my 84' enchanter ran about 73 mph with a 225 2.4merc and that was gps.Only me in the boat,and 1/2 tank fuel, with worked 24" turbo 3 blade prop.The 2.5 mercs run better than the 2.4's.A 2.5 is what you need. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif
