IS ANYONE HERE INTO REMOTE CONTROL STUFF I AM JUST ABOUT AS HEAVY AS MY MATE I HAVE 2 MONSTER TRUCKS 1 STADUIM TRUCK 1 AIRPLANE ITS JUST ABOUT AS ADDICTING AS CHECKMATES.
I want an R/C boat to take out on the river with me and run while we are beached, but I am afraid it will get run over. We have a problem with people on PWC's who think they need to run 50+mph 25 feet off of the back of our transoms! When I lives out in Seattle, I used to "play" with R/C unlimited hydros. Our crew chief is world known for the scale boats he builds. His name is Roger Newton, if you have heard of him.

The guy a few doors down from me at the cottage has a radio controlled mini offshore boat, and it is fast! Really fast! And it screams! Anyone have a good website, with info on getting one?

A GOOD PLACE TO FIND A RC BOAT IS EBAY THERE CHEAP
http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gifI am big into the RC Cars/Boats. I have around 15-20 Cars and about 3-5 boats and when its summer time, I'm getting this twin motored boat that goes 25 MPH. Also, when I get the website, there is this guy in the US who makes complete and awesome models of any speedboat. I asked him how much it would cost me to make a Skater 28 Pleasure and he said it would cost around 4200 for a fully done rig that does around 70 MPH! Remember thats RC speed so that is fast, faster than most Checkmates. He has a lot of choices to suit your wants! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

For 4200.00 it better come with vasaline. The R/C unlited hydros that can be raced in the APBA sell for 500-600 bucks. If you find a new 28ft Skater for 42,000 grand, you better buy it, maybe without motors http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
How does 4.2 million sound http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif A little much, maybe 420 000, still too much for a 28. Here is the link to the site. RC Offshore (http://www.rcoffshore.com/). Also here is the message he sent me about the prices of a fully done Skater 28.
"Chris,
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner as I was out of town for the New Year. A white Race Skater 28 rigged, ready to run, with basic motors, twin 30cc Homelite (1.25 HP) w/ clutches is roughly $1700.00. One with twin Zenoah 23cc motors (2.5 HP) w/ clutches ready to run is roughly $2400.00. A Race Skater 28 ready to run with twin Quickdraw 25cc motors (6.5 HP each!!) is roughly $3500.00 and would run in the mid 60MPH+ range. One with twin Quickdraw 35cc motors (7.8 HP each) is $4200.00 and should hit 70MPH+. I'm located in Saugatuck, Michigan.
Any more questions, let me know. Thanks for your inquiry, Nigel"

A few friends and I are inot racing R.C. cars. We race 1/8 scale Serpents. These cars are fast and so is the action on the track. We have been radared at over 70 M.P.H. Unfortunetly, as with anything that is fast, it is expensive to run and be competetive. Of course, this is only our winter hobby. When the weather breaks we go back to our real love and passion---FAST BOATS---

Some of the tracks shown are for 1/10 scale cars. They are quite a bit smaller and slower. We run 1/8 scale. We make up our own track by duck tapping down some old fire truck hose to the ground. When these cars are set-up correctly, they have unbelievable handling. You would most likely be surprised at how fast you can go into a turn.
That is pretty sweet. Where can you get these hoses as they cost so much as I should know as I plan to become a firefighter. Do you have any videos that could be put up. It would be awesome http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I don't know of any video links. As far as the hoses go, we have a connection that got us a few hoses that the fire department was throwing away. They are torn but they still suit us fine.
Ok... You should still get some images and post them. I am sure most of us would like to see them even though they arn't related to boats... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If your interested in a fast 1/8 scale car, check out E-Bay. Sometimes there is a good car for sale at a resonable price. Do a search for "Serpent" and see what comes up. If you are not sure what to look at, drop me an e-mail, I will try to help you out.

Mike D,
Yes it does have a 2 speed trans. If you look at the 3rd picture from the top, you can see the gear box. Of course, the gear ratios are adjustable by changing the gears. You can also adjust the trans. shift points.
I'm just not that good at building them or working on them.... I'll look around and see what I find. What is a good price on car I might find...?

My R/C Hobby Viper... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif
http://www.radioshack.com/images/ProductCatalog/ProductImage/60/60-4336.jpg
Its the Radioshack Hobby Viper Kit. It cost me around $300 Canadian and it goes around 1600 ft per minute, which relates to around 20 MPH with the stock engine and tires. I ordered the upgraded motor and tires today which was another $115 so I'll be going faster soon... This pic I have attached is from the RadioShack.com website but when I get some of my own pics uploaded I'll get them up... It does all of this with a normal 7.2 Battery... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I am also going to repaint it soon. I might paint it yellow with some different black stripes. I was also going to add some flames on the front and the sides close to the door plus I would add custom fake dual exhausts that actually came out... This is just an idea I have had forever but don't know how it would work from a controller. Take 2 long red lighters you use for starting the barbecue and make them fit as exhaust pipes. Then work that up to some electrical wiring so that you have a button on the controller that fires out huge a$$ flames. Any ideas or tips on how to do so...

I am bidding on this Ferrari on Ebay. It says it can go around 30-40 Miles an hour and the guy hasn't tuned it so it may go faster. I'll going to get it for around 115 CAD... Its awesome and it comes with tons of extra parts!
I found a great car..

A month or so ago, I was at a fiberglass place, and they had two 51" cigarette boats that looked pretty cool. I made a deal with them to trade some of my artwork for the two boats. I gave one to my friend, and have been reworking the other one into my own design. It looks completly different already. I would post some pictures, but the ones I sent of my boat with the new motor, have not been posted. guess they didn't make it. How much should I change (percentage wise) to make it my own. I have looked high and low and have not found this boat anywhere else, but I know someone somewhere made it.

As for the R/C Thread, I have some nice shots of my Viper I shall get up. I have a Mabuchi RS-540SF Motor for sale. I upgraded to an even better Mabuchi motor and my Viper now does around 25 MPH. Pretty good for a stock car from Radio Shack. Also, if anyone has kids and wants to give them their own first or second and so on Radio Controll car, I have around 15-20 different cars/boats that I can part with. I'm going to put some up on Ebay soon so if any of these members want them, please let me know at 2003CorvetteZ06@sympatico.ca

I make artwork out of broken surfboards. I try to stick with making saltwater fish (tropicals & some local). I have made other things such as tree frogs and so forth, but the demand is for the fish. It all started as a wedding present for a friend, and have not put it down since. Three hundred or so fish and four years later, still plugging away. I am actually planning to stop since I got accepted to engineering school and will not have my facilities anymore. As for the pictures, I am not sure what happened. I am always having trouble with my email, so its most likely my fault. Will try again soon.

hey z
what kind of boats you have my brother is looking for one ( nitro if possible )
Sorry Mike, but my boats are mostly ones for little kids. I never really found any interest and am now upgrading to the MegaTech Caribbean Cruiser. I also have cars too if anyone is interested.
