Sounds like you need to wet sand and machine buff the area. Take some 1000 grit paper, wet sand the area, then machine buff with a quality rubbing compound. After that, hit it with a polishing compound and hopefully that'll do it! :thumb:

On rare occasions I've seen water stains burnt into the clearcoat. What happens is water is splashed on the area. The sun is blazing hot and the water works like a magnifing glass and frys the underlying surface. It happened to the Senator I had a couple years ago. :irked: That boat had been repainted and so the finish wasn't as tough as gel coat. But its still something you should look out for especially on dark colors.

I've had really good luck using Starbrite waxes and cleaners. Easy to use and seems to last! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
