Hi everyone,
I'm new to the board but hope to become a long time member. I tested an 87 Enforcer yesterday and it was an amazing ride. The only problem was when we took it out of the water and removed the plug about a gallon of water pour out and the boat was definitely dry when it went in. We backed it in again to submerge the outdrive but saw no obvious signs of leakage. I inspected the bellows and they looked fine, no signs of dry rot. The owner has only had the boat for a year and claims to be be selling it because he has another boat. I also inspected the entire hull and saw no obvious signs of damage. If I buy this boat it would be tied up to a dock for extended periods so I'm terrified of finding it on the bottom of the lake someday. Anyone have any advice as to where else I should look for this leak? Thanks

Check all through hull bolts (swim ladder, platform, etc.) Water could have also been retained forward in the hull and did not have a chance to flow aft until you started bouncing around during your test drive. Also, if it was rough with a lot of wave action, you could sometimes take water in from a poorly sealed rubrail joint (deck to hull).

Thanks for the tips. I'll check them out.
