Tossing around ideas for putting new engine on my Enchanter. Does it have be a 20" shaft? The 200hp Merc I have now weighs in at around 390 lbs., anyone know approximate max weight I can have for the engine/boat set-up? I want it to be faster (was running at around 70). I've been looking at 2.5 Racing Pro Max - any comments, suggestions? Thanks

I have just finished restoring my 1979 Entertainer which I think is the same hull as the Enchanter except it has an open bow.

I am running a 2003 Merc 200HP Carb model with 6" of set back on a manual jack plate and 25P Tempest Plus prop.

The boat runs 70 plus with no problem.

IS THIS SET UP A 20" OR A 25" SHAFT?

I was running my 84 Enchanter with a Yamaha Pro-V 200 and 10" set back (20" shaft) and it would run a solid 74mph.
